Natural Perfume Roll-On Recipe for 10ml Bottle

Below is a simple step-by-step recipe to create a perfume to use inside your roll-on bottles! Slip these perfume roll-ons into your pocket or your purse, hide one in your desk at work or keep one in the car to quickly freshen-up on the go!

Supplies you will need:

  • 10ml Deluxe Square Bottle
  • Scale, Beakers, Pipettes
  • Organic Clear Jojoba Oil (INCI: Simmondsia Chinensis)
  • Fractionated Coconut Oil (INCI: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
  • Vitamin E Oil (INCI: Alpha Tocopherol)
  • Fragrance Oil (Almond Blossom + Tonka Cream) or your choice of fragrance oil
It is important to reference the IFRA (Category 4) certificate for your fragrance oil of choice to confirm it is skin safe and that the recipe conforms with the IFRAs maximum concentration levels.

    Recipe/Weight Calculations:

    37% Jojoba Oil - 37% x 10g = 3.7g
    47% Fractionated Coconut Oil - 47% x 10g = 4.7g
    15% Fragrance Oil (Almond Blossom + Tonka Cream) 15% x 10g = 1.5g
    1% Vitamin E Oil - 1% x 10g = 0.1g
    Instructions:
    1. Sanitize your bottle(s) and tools using rubbing alcohol and rinse with water afterwards. Allow them to air dry completely before using.
    2. Meanwhile, prepare your workstation, set out your tools and get your ingredients ready. We recommend wearing gloves and other protective equipment to ensure safety and a sterile working environment.
    3. Measure your ingredients and add them all to an empty beaker.
    4. Once all of your ingredients have been added, stir your ingredients together.
    5. Pipe your mixture into your bottle(s).
    6. Place the roll-on top snuggly on your bottle(s) and screw the cap on.
    7. Label your bottle(s). Be sure to include any required safety information for your customers.
    8. Allow your mixture to cure over 2-4 weeks to ensure proper fusion of ingredients.

    Additional Information

This is a great starting recipe and some modifications could certainly be made to get your ideal results. For example, if you'd like your fragrance oil to be more potent, you could add more fragrance oil (assuming the level of fragrance oil does not exceed the IFRA maximum concentration level) and add less carrier oil to compensate. We have not tested changing the percentage of vitamin E.

Fractionated coconut oil is an all-natural carrier oil that absorbs easily into the skin, making it ideal for topical applications. A light oil that provides a soothing barrier while not clogging pores makes it great for dry or irritated skin. Leaves your skin feeling smooth and healthy.

Jojoba oil is odorless and colourless. It is also hypoallergenic and a humectant ingredient - meaning it attracts moisture to the skin. Although it has moisturizing properties it is absorbed quickly and doesn't leave a greasy feeling. Jojoba oil gives your roll-on perfume a luxurious feeling which is why we highly recommend it for this recipe.

Other carrier oils could be considered for this recipe instead of jojoba oil. However we have not thoroughly tested these alternative oils with these ratios and they would need to be further tested by you, the creator before selling. Other carrier oils to consider instead of using jojoba oil include:

    • Grapeseed oil
    • Almond oil
    • Camellia oil

Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant and has many skincare benefits including softening the skin, moisture retention and ultimately protecting the skin from environmental damage. It is important to note that vitamin E is NOT a preservative. While it can help extend the shelf life of products by delaying the onset of rancidity, it does not prevent microbial growth.

    Happy creating!
